SWMAC Risk Prediction Project

Built a live mosquito risk prediction dashboard for the Southwest Mosquito Abatement Center (SWMAC) in St. George, UT. The core idea: new construction creates mosquito breeding habitat, so if you can see where development is happening and layer in weather conditions, you can forecast population booms before they happen. Sourced 26,000+ building and grading permits from the City of St. George via a GRAMA public records request, then batch geocoded every address using the US Census Geocoder API. Merged that with 10 years of SWMAC trap surveillance data and NOAA weather records going back to 2016. Built an OLS regression model (statsmodels) correlating temperature, precipitation, and mosquito counts to generate weekly risk forecasts. Deployed as a fully interactive web app using Python, Plotly Dash, and Render. The dashboard includes a live GIS map with permit risk scoring, trap site overlays showing WNV and SLE disease detection history, species breakdowns, and an analytics section tracking which areas of the city are developing fastest. Available live at swmac.onrender.com.

UTU Admissions Project

Created this dashboard with data from our admissions department. Spent over half the semester cleaning the data in Tableau Prep; identifying duplicates, generating zip codes, fixing input errors. Worked closely with faculty to ensure goals were being met. Presented and delivered this to them on 12/2/25. This is from Tableau, I also made the project available on PowerBI at their request.

Snow College Basketball Project

Built a web scraper in PowerBI that automatically updates from the Snow College (my alma mater) website with their basketball team's player stats. I also created a team win lookup, to reference their KPI's against how well the team did that year overall. The final Dashboard was sent to Coach May in November, and highlights that lower individual player statistics actually lead to better team records at the end of the season.

Experience

Though early in my career, I’ve taken on diverse, real-world data projects that've taught me so much outside of the classroom. Gathering, cleaning and visualizing large raw data sets you can't find on Kaggle.
